Woohoo the sun is out! Daylight savings is here so it must be nearly triathlon season!
Whether you are training for your first triathlon or Ironman NZ or simply want to try something different, I am holding a “brick” session with a focus on skills and coaching feedback. The session is 3 hours long, but you can do as little or as much as you feel you can, or simply come along to join in 1,2 or 3 of the disciplines. A good way to join in a group for a sea swim, bunch ride or run.
If you do not have a full coaching program from Kinetic Edge the session is $20, and non-KE members are more than welcome to come along too! The more the merrier. There will be appropriate groups of abilities (beginner to elite) and those with less confidence will have the option of short shore line swimming, short laps on the bike and a flat easy run. Those who need a challenge will be sent on swims ranging up to 3k, solid bikes with varying terrain and running off the bike to ensure those jelly legs are well and truly sorted.
Date: Saturday 7th November
Where: Kohimarama beach – meet at the change block
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: $20 for non-full program athletes
What to bring – everything! Wetsuit, bike and run gear, towel, change of clothes and some dollars for a good coffee and refuel after!
Please register you interest with Ali asap and forward this onto anyone you think may be interested in joining in!

Please join us in sending a message to the North Shore City Council to keep and enhance the existing Lake Road cycle lane. We are people who share a vision of the future and understand that anything we can do to promote more people on bikes and fewer people in cars is a good thing. This is a vision which is about our children, our future and promoting a healthy and sustainable environment in which to live. In joining our cause please consider some very simple facts:
- Hundreds of children cycle along Lake Road every day to local schools. Belmont Intermediate is the top cycling school in the Auckland Region. The Principal is proud of this and has given written support for the retention of the cyclelanes. The bike storage cages at Takapuna Grammar are overloaded and bikes now overflow onto non-secure racks. The younger children ride on the shared footpath cyclepath and tend to graduate to the on - road cyclelanes as they gain confidence. If we take the cycle lanes out these children may no longer ride their bikes, losing the health benefits they now get. This will add more car traffic during peak rush hour. Worse, those who continue riding to school will face additional risk of getting hit by a car. Why would anyone want to put our children at risk to appease a small vocal minority?

NOTE TO ALL ATHLETES!
WADA (World Anti Doping Agency) has re-baned pseudoephedrine - this drug is found in common cold products sold at chemists! So please read the labels carefully if you are taking cold medications!
If you are unsure of what is on the prohibited list find out HERE
And this isn’t just for “carded athletes” theoretically anyone can get tested but typically its those who who ride A-grade+
But don’t fret…they haven’t taken coffee of the list again yet!!!
